Edwin "Speed" Olds - Class of 1996

a standout football/basketball player at Ishpeming High School and Northern Michigan University.  Earned three letters in football, four in basketball and one in track at NMU, setting basketball game, season and career (1938-42) scoring records.  Tried out for the NFL's Green Bay Packers in 1946 and played for the San Diego Bombers of the Pacific Coast League.  Played on three state championship softball teams.
