Gene Maki - Class of 1999

(Wakefield)

a sports historian and Wakefield High School's boys tennis coach for 44 years and girls tennis coach since its inception in 1973.  His teams have won four U.P. Class C-D titles and one open class crown and finished second seven times.  He has been a member of the U.P. Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association since 1955 and is a charter member of the U.P. Sports Hall of Fame executive council.
