Herb Grenke - Class of 2018

The native of Oconto Falls, Wis. was defensive line coach for Northern Michigan University's NCAA Division 2 championship football team in 1975. Grenke was NMU's head coach from 1983-90 and compiled a school-best 53-28-1 record. He coached in all 12 of NMU's NCAA playoff games. In 1987, Grenke was GLIAC coach of the year and Region 3 Kodak College Football Coach of the Year. After serving in the Marine Corps with the elite 1st Marine Brigade amphibious recon platoon, Grenke played football at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was a two-time all-conference selection and two-time team captain. He also coached at UW-Platteville and Northern Illinois.
