1993-94 season marked his 40th year as a basketball and football official.  He has worked more than 2,500 contests, surpassing in 1986 the previous Upper Peninsula record of Hall of Famer Ray Ranguette.  He has worked state championship games in football and boys and girls basketball and seven of his pupils have also worked the state finals.
