Larry Barkle - Class of 2012

A youth baseball coach and official over a span of four decades, Larry Barkle was known as "Mr. Little League" in Dickinson County. He was president of the Michigan-Wisconsin Little League from 1970-2000, devoted more than 8,500 hours to the program, compiled a coaching record of 416-199 and the East Side Field is named in his honor. He was manager of the 1994 Little League team which won the state baseball championship. The Felch native also was a recruiter for Michigan State University. He died in 2001.
