Phyllis Laurila - Class of 1995

(Iron Mountain)

ranked as high as fifth nationally as a junior tennis player in Hamtramck.  She played in the U.S.  Open in 1959 and won the NCAA doubles championship for Central Michigan University in 1959.  She directed the Iron Mountain High School boys tennis team to 13 straight Mid-Peninsula Conference titles, nine U.P. Class C-D boys titles and eight girls crowns.
