Wayne Schwalbach - Class of 1999

regarded as one of the finest athletes in Escanaba High School history, he was a Class A all-state running back who is still the school's all-time rushing leader with 2,240 yards.  In 1973 he set U.P. track records of 9.9 in the 100-yard dash and 58-feet-7 in the shot put that still stand.  He was a two-time Mid-American Conference pick at tight end for Central Michigan University and was the punter on the school's 1974 NCAA Division II championship team.
